I was awarded my Fellowship from the Irish College of Surgeons in 1985 and I won the Gold Medal at the Intercollegiate Examination in General Surgery in February 2003. I was the first surgeon from Belfast ever to win the Gold Medal. I was awarded my Fellowship from the Australian College of Surgeons in 2006.
